Lori Serna-Pate 

Lori Serna-Pate is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. She has worked in the dental setting for over 25 years and has been a clinician for 21 of those years. Since 2000, she has been an Infection Control Officer. She provides individual office evaluations and group training seminars. Her interactive courses employ a practical approach to enable health professionals to survive the changing array of communicable disease laws and work safely in today's dental office. She currently practices Dental Hygiene once a week in private practice in Ellicot City, MD.

She has presented educational programs for local, state, and national dental societies such as MSDA, MAGD, Patuxent Dental Society and other professional organizations such as MOSA. Lori Serna-Pate RDH. M.Ed. is a member of ADHA, MDHA, HCDHA as well as OSAP the organization that works with CDC to make Infection Control Guidelines and Recommendations. Her lectures are accredited through the Academy of General Dentistry and the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. She lives in Columbia MD, with her family that consists of 4 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats and a very patient husband. In her free time, she enjoys watching Football and Futból.

Richard Small, JD 

Richard Small practices law in Michigan. He spent the first 20 years of his law practice defending dentists in court in Michigan and other states. He became an insurance agent for OMSNIC and Fortress in 2000. He participates on the AAOMS State Advocate’s Committee and several Michigan Dental Association Committees as a consultant and author and speaks on topics relating to risk avoidance and risk management for dentists, dental specialists, study clubs, dental students and residents around the country.

 

Mr. Small is currently the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Great Lakes Society of Oral Surgeons. He also represents the Council of Michigan Dental Specialties and sits on the Michigan Dental Association Access to Care Study Group. Mr. Small has nothing to disclose
